I am developing a diy project using i2s signal from qcc5125 (can emit mlck pulse) into adau1401, I have tried configuring i2s signal in many ways, but the result is very large output, broken signal. signal and cannot adjust the volume. Help me please!

I have set 48khz for the sampling frequency of sigma studio, removed the 12288hz quartz crystal available on the adau1401 circuit, supplied the mclk pin from qcc5125 to pin 32 (mclki) of the adau1401

Hello vietvuong,

The first thing I noticed is that you have the ADAU1401 set to run at 192kHz fs.

'

Set it to this:

Then add some meters into the project so you can see where and when you have signals coming into your board.

Then add an oscillator like this so you can generate a signal from inside the DSP.

These are powerful troubleshooting tools you can use to determine if it is the input side that is the problem or the output side?

Then take some screenshots of the I2S signals with a scope to see if you can see any issues there.

This is a post I did showing how to take these screenshots.

Here is that post:

(+) How to Take Meaningful Screenshots of I2S Audio Signals - Q&A - Audio - EngineerZone (analog.com)

Then let's see how things are going and what you find and let's go from there.

I looked at the other link, I still don't know how to capture the i2s signal sample, I drew a diagram as you instructed, changed it to 1024 instructions and it only crackles when outputting a sine signal from in the circuit, it looks like this is coming from DC power noise. Can you guide me more specifically on how to capture the i2s signal sample? I don't have an oscilloscope.

Hello

Show me pictures of your exact hardware setup and explain to me where the wires go to? The big thing I am looking for is to see if you connected the LRCLK to both the LRCLK_In and LRCLK_Out? Also the BCLK_IN and the BCLK_OUT. They have to both be connected to the same signals.

Then my next question is: Do you have an oscilloscope? How many input channels?

I don't have an oscilloscope, I only supply the lrck, bclk i2s signals at the input, not connected in-out. I only use 1 i2s input from qcc5125 chip. I tried feeding such i2s signal to the external pcm5102a board and it works perfectly. My configuration on the chip is like that because I plan to exploit 6 outputs through an external pcm5102a. Regarding the connection of the signal transmission wires, I have carefully traced the circuit to the output pins of the qcc chip and adau1401. I have tried reversing the bclk and rlck wires. If wrong, there will be no sound in the output. I will try connecting the bclk in-out and lrclk in-out pins but is this really necessary as I haven't exploited the external pcm chip?

Thank you very much, the problem is solved, just simply connect the blck in-out and lrck in-out mp4-mp10 pairs; mp5-mp11, all worked perfectly. Just 2 wires and it kept me awake for days :D

That is good news that you found the problem.

Thank you for taking the time to report back on the forum.

This part was designed many years before I started working here. Had I been the applications engineer on this project I would have done the seral port clocking differently. You ALWAYS have to tie the In port to the Out port for the LRCLK and the BCLK. The serial input port is always a slave and the serial output port is bi-directional. However, the clocks always have to be the same. You cannot clock them at different rates. So I would have saved two GPIO pins by internally tying the serial input port clocks to the serial output port clocks.

Sorry this caused you issues. It is detailed in the datasheet but not as obvious as it could be.

і де ви взяли інструмент налаштування ADK? не могли б ви поділитися посиланням або файлом? У мене схожа проблема, мені потрібно перепрошити qcc5125

Hello yarik,

You really should be posting in English so we all can read it without going through the trouble of cut and paste into a translator.

Your question is not for ADI. Have you tried to send a friend request to the user who posted this question? Become friends then you can send him a private message to see where he got the tool you are asking about.

Hello Yarik, you can find full dev tool for QCC tool in here https://www.facebook.com/groups/305106516914334/posts/1010236373068008/.
And my problem can slove if i2s mod run at 3.3v from QCC hardware setting, VPAD=VDD, you must try some diffrent QCC board to know what work
