Trying to extract monophonic content of music with arytmetic fonction
Hi everyone i'm new to forum. i setup an adau1701 based 4ch amplifier (dayton kabd4100) in the garage to make some experiment and come to a probleme. I wanted to extract the monophonic content of music signal for a project but dont know how, Kinda like dolby decoding. The idea was to experiment some kind of stereo treatment, costum head related transfer fonction stereo enhance or for example expand stereo signal into 3 different audio bus: the left signal difference, the right signal difference and the signal that is is monophonic (contained in left and right).
1.What i expect is example if a signal come only for the left channel no output is routed to the "phantom center channel".
2. Second thing i expect for "phantom left or right channel" is being able to only extract the sound without what is monophonic and without having to opposed channel out of phase in it.
Thank you, i hope what i want to accomplish is possible

Hello costumJ,
It is interesting to see how successful you can be in doing this. It should be possible.
A lot of this is basic math. Just setup basic sums and differences.
We do have some 3D audio blocks but they might not do what you have in mind.
But use the signal Add, Signal Subtract and Signal Invert to create these signals.
Here is where you find them:
So take the Left signal, invert it and add it to the right and you will get the R-L signal.
Sum the two channels and you get the L+R
Add the L+R to the (-R) so this equation, (L+R)-R and you should get only the L that does not have any of the center channel data.
The great thing about SigmaStudio is that it is so easy to experiment and see what it sounds like!
Try some of this and come back and let us know how it went. Others on the forum might also chime in.
