Graphical Eq strange behaviour (missing filters when more more than 1 channel)

Thread Summary

The user encountered an issue with the graphical EQ filter module in SigmaStudio+ where increasing the number of channels to more than 1 resulted in only half the expected IIR coefficients being output. The final answer revealed that the parameters are split between DM0 and DM1, likely due to memory optimization. The engineer suggested using one channel for now as a workaround.

I'm running into a problem with the graphical eq filter module in SigmaStudio+.

Whenever the number of channels is increased to more than 1, the parameter output only has half the number of iir coefficients. The odd numbered stages disappear, 4 filters in the designer produce 10 parameters instead of 40.

Am I doing something wrong?

20 params, not 40

Hello Ben,

I did setup a project and tested this. I see the issue. What I saw was a little different from what you described. I only saw one set of coefficients even if there are two filters in the graph. So there is clearly a bug.

I will report it. My suggestion is to just use one channel for now. Do not grow it. It seems to work OK from what I am seeing.

Hi David, Thank you for your help with this.

I think I have figured out the cause. On my project, it seams that when the number of channels is increased, the parameters are split between DM0 and DM1. I guess that this is due to some code optimization?

Hello Ben,

AHH!!!! Thanks so much!! You have helped me actually! SigmaStudio+ is still new to me and it is getting better with recent updates. So I have not used it very much. Mostly for projects that utilize A2B technology.

Splitting up the coefficients between memories will just keep the memory from filling up faster. I do not think it actually allows for more efficiency but I might be wrong.

Thanks!
