Thread Summary

The user sought an AGC function for leveling an input signal from various radio sources using the ADAU1787 SigmaDSP. The support engineer suggested using basic building blocks from a similar ADAU1701 AGC implementation, which can be ported to the ADAU1787. The user successfully implemented a solution that maintains steady gain during voice pauses, achieving smooth and fast performance.

Hi,

I'm looking for an AGC function in the SigmaDSP part for leveling an input signal within a certain range, coming from an unknown voice source (various types of radios). It's seems there is not a build in function that directly do this, but could you please provide a suggestion for building that in discrete building blocks.

Thanks a lot.

Hello John Hammer,

Dave wrote an informative thread about AGC here. Although he originally wrote it for ADAU1701, but the concept is just the same and if this is what you want to do in your project, then we can port (create a new one for this 1787 DSP) this project to ADAU1787. Since he uses basic building blocks to create this algorithm, those modules are available in ADAU1787 DSP. So, we can port this algorithm. So, please have a look at this thread.

Please let me know if this is what you want.

what sample rate you are planning to use and how many channels?

Regards,

Harish

Hi Harish,

Thanks a lot for your reply. The link was very inspiring.

I wanted a function that is holding a steady gain in the voice pauses - so I made something like this:

It took a few days to get every working and trimmed to be smooth but also fast enought :-)

Best regards
