Thread Summary

The user is running a speaker with an ADAU1701 and needs to switch between two gain levels for different input sources (WIFI and Bluetooth) using a GPIO0-connected ON/OFF switch. The support engineer provided an example project using an index-selectable MUX with GPIO input, suggesting to replace the oscillator with a gain cell or volume control. The user successfully implemented a toggle switch schematic, and the engineer noted the importance of ReadBacks for troubleshooting.

I am running a speaker with an ADAU 1701. Now my input source can change between WIFI and Bluetooth. The Problem: The bluetooth source has a way lower gain. Now I have a On/Off Style switch connected to GPIO0 and want to program it to switch between two gain levels at the start of the schematic. Now how do I do that. I only found how to program push buttons online so if someone could tell me how I can programm this it would be great.

Hello lue,

I am not sure if I am fully understanding what you need but I think this example project is a start:

1121.ADAU1701 Index Selectable MUX using GPIO Input.dspproj

All you need to do is change the oscillator I had in this project for testing with a gain cell or a volume control.

Also, what do you mean by ON/OFF style switch? Do you mean it is latching verses momentary?

Thanks,

Dave T

I figured it out now. It was a normal switch. This is my schematic for a toggle switch:

Hello lue,

Great! Just note the ReadBacks in my project. Those are helpful for troubleshooting as long as you do not run out of instructions.

I was going to point you to a video on my YouTube channel but There is not one exactly on this topic. It would be embedded into some of the others.

Hopefully you have found my channel?
