Hello everybody,

I currently have a setup that is similar to this article (https://wiki.analog.com/resources/tools-software/a2bv2/quickstartguide/hardware-setup/ad2433-with-som-carrier-ez-kit#adzs2433-mini), but using the EV-SC594-SOM on the EV-SOMCRR-EZKIT with the ADZS-AD2428MINI module (A2B sub node 0 is a EVAL-AD2428WD1BZ).

I would like to program the SHARC DSPs and A2B transceivers with SigmaStudio+. When I use the example that comes with SigmaStudio+ (Analog Devices/SigmaStudioPlus-Rel2.3.0/Target/Examples/Demo/ADSP-SC59x/ADSP-SC594), I can verify that it works as expected (of course without the A2B module).

Now to my question. When I add the A2B module, I know that I need to configure the SRU accordingly in CCES. I tried to configure the SPORT4B for the A2B module in the schematics.

However, when I try to connect to my running CCES project with SigmaStudio+, I still get the 'Main Running Interrupt Not Detected' error, which I guess relates to a wrong/missing clock/sync signal on the ADZS-AD2428MINI module. Does anyone know what I missed or configured wrong?

I also attached the SigmaStudio+ project for reference.

I know that the question is a little more extensive. But I hope that maybe someone has already done something similar or maybe I can get the example project for this setup from ADI (https://wiki.analog.com/resources/tools-software/a2bv2/quickstartguide/hardware-setup/ad2433-with-som-carrier-ez-kit#adzs2433-mini).

Thank you everybody in advance for any advise.

Hi,

We would suggest you to refer the FAQ linked below and please contact the A2B support team directly for any further assistance.

Hi,

thanks for your reply. I was finally able to test the FAQ. And following these steps I was not able to fix this issue (I was not able to fully follow the FAQ as my carrier board does not have a switch and the brown cable of the iUSB is on the other side. However the SigmaStudio tuning of the SHARC+ works when not using the A2B module. So I would assume that these steps should be set correctly for now).

I suspect that my SPORT configuration in CCES is wrong and the A2B module does not receive the correct CLK/FSYNC signals. Should the A2B discovery still work even when the SPORT configuration is not correct?

Any luck making it work?

Sadly, not with the analog output of the EV-SOMCRR-EZKIT. I did not continue debugging this, but used an external amplifier evaluation board. With that, I used the CLK/FSYNC from the A2B module for the EV-SC594-SOM and forwarded it to the amplifier. This worked.

Could you refer to the amplifier evaluation board, what model is it?

Can yo tell me what is your new physical setup after including the amplifier?

I am no longer using Sigmastudio because I have no idea If I got a hardware problem or a software problem that is why I ported the a2bstack to CCES and then started to use it just to encounter the same problem..

@AMHafez Sorry I cannot give you a detailed setup description. Can you make a general connection in SigmaStudio? So when you just connect the two trasceiver (EVAL-AD2428 and ADZS-AD2428MINI)?

I do not have the EVAL-AD2428 but instead I have the AD2428MINI latched on the carrier with EV-SC598-SOM on board. I tried to build the connection in SigmaStudio using custom platform but It did not work. Unfortunately, I think SigmaStudio only works properly with A2B Evaluation boards only, that is why I ported the a2bstack to CCES.
