HI sir,

What are the Minimum and maximum recommended input and output analog voltages I can provide to the CODEC (ADAU1761BCPZ)

The absolute maximum rating of Input analog signal is specified in the datasheet. But recommended minimum and maximum values are not mentioned

Can I apply 0.08V differential signal across LINP and LINN pin or the codec will consider this signal a noise floor?

Datasheet/Specs

Hello Rakesh01,

I am not sure I fully understand the question.

The maximum and minimum input is kind of tough to provide a number since the PGA has gain settings so you can adjust for your system levels.

Then you can adjust the gain before the signal reaches the ADC.

The absolute max of the analog input to the signal pins are listed in the table you provided.

If the signals you are supplying are really low then you will need to gain them up. Then if your system might produce super high levels then you will need to protect the analog input pins with diodes to limit it to within 0.3V of AVDD.

The analog front end of this part before the ADC gives you a lot of flexibility.

With regards to the ADC we do mention the nominal levels in the ADC Full-Scale Level section of the datasheet. These numbers need to be adjusted based on your gain settings of the analog input stage.

Here is a screenshot of that page:

Hi Sir,

Sorry for not being able to explain my question properly. Please find the proper explanation of my question below

CODEC Input= 0.08Vrms to 1Vrms diffierential signal

0.08Vrms = 0.226274Vp-p (That means my signal voltage window will be -0.05656 V to +0.05656V)

1Vrms = 2.8284Vp-p ( That means my signal voltage window will be -0.7071 V to +0.7071V)

In the datasheet, the minimum CODEC input is not mentioned properly

If I consider the absolute maximum section, The min analog signal can go up to -0.3 V

So my question is actually: what minimum and maximum voltage can I provide to the CODEC? (Recommended value)

At the PGA, we can adjust, but can I provide -1.414 V to the CODEC? The absolute maximum ratings show -0.3 V. Will it damage the CODEC IC?

If I want to bypass the PGA section means If I want to design for the minimum and maximum Voltage value only (for Ideal Case) what voltage I can provide to CODEC. And what is the PGA voltage window range (-Vs to +Vs)
