Hello,

Setup: 2 channel ADC set up as master into ADAU1446, as slave.

I'm having a slight problem in that I am getting full range noise (white noise/hiss) on one channel of my ADC, only when a signal is present. If I invert the polarity of the LR clock in sigmastudio the noise moves to the other channel on the converter. Clock signals look ok.

Has anyone got any suggestions on what this could be or where to look please.

Many thanks.

Hi Alex,

What ADC are you using? Are you observing this noise before or after the ADAU1446 in the signal chain? Also, when you input a signal, do you only get white noise out, or do you get the signal with an added hiss?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi Tyler,

Regrettably, it's not an AD part, PCM4202. I'm observing the noise after it has passed through the ADAU1446 and the DAC.

With no signal there is no noise. With a signal there is the signal as well as the noise, which 'bounces' around, changing in level, it is also intermittent.

Ok...Sooooo...I'm embarrassed at how long it took for me to realise that flipping LR clock polarity only changed the two channels over, it didn't move the noise! This meant that the noise was coming from the sigmastudio program, I've tracked the problem down and will start a new thread for that.
