Processro recommendations for a small portable ANC system?
My colleague and I are looking to find a board that would suit our purposes for
developing a robust mobile ANC product in an open environment. We're stuck on deciding
between the ADAU144x, ADAU176x, and ADAU1781 products to start off our
prototyping for our design.
I chose those options because we are most familiar with the SigmaStudio software and I saw that they have a large amount of access to a lot of the tools that SigmaStudio has to offer.
We'd really appreciate your feedback and recommendations on the matter if you
can get a chance to help us out a bit.
Let me know if there's anything else I can provide to assist with your answers.

Hello,
The ADAU1772 and ADAU1777 are our two products specialized for ANC applications. They are designed with a stripped-down processing core to allow for very low latency (as low as 5μs), which is needed for noise cancelling headphones, for example. I would recommend that you start by looking at one of those processors.
If latency is less of a concern, and you need a more fully-featured processor, then you're on the right track with our SigmaDSP line of products. The ADAU1701, ADAU144x, ADAU1761, and ADAU145x are all great processors. Which one you choose really depends on what types of I/O you need, total processing capability, and physical size.
If you're able to share a little more information about your application and technical requirements, I would be happy to give you a more specific suggestion.
Regards,
Tyler
For now we think that we'll need 8 error microphones for input and 4 speaker outputs and anywhere from 4-8 reference microphones to determine the residual noise in leftover from the result of the antinoise and source.
The latency for the 1772 and 1777 is perfect for our applications. Initially we downloaded SigmaStudio with one of those products in mind but when I looked through the toolbox, I didn't see much of a wide selection of components or tools to build in the Schematic Tree Toolbox. If I'm mistaken or overlooked something, please let me know. This was the page that I referenced to consider the 144x 176x and 1781:

Our aim was to have something well within 30μs so if the other mentioned products are similar or not too far off in latency then I think we can consider those options too. Our unit would be approximately no larger than approximately 88 square inches in surface area.
Thanks,
Diego
