See page 80 of the 145x datasheet.

It says that the software safeload addresses are determined by the compiler, so they may differ from the "defaults".

This is indeed true... and it says to look at compiler_output.log in order to confirm the actual addresses.

The software safeload addresses should be included in one of the header files generated by Sigma Studio upon exporting, so that it can be used in code.

One should not have to manually check compiler_output.log any time they change the schematic, then have to manually change their code to reference the correct addresses.

Please fix this in the next release of Sigma Studio...

I agree that this rather essential piece of information should be in the export data.

In the meantime, ParamAddress.dat in the compiler output dir seems to contain the addresses of all symbols (including those for safeload) in a 2-column tab-separated format that's trivial to parse. Obtaining it from there seems like a usable workaround.

I'm not sure that's a terribly useful workaround, as it's basically the same format and information as in ParamAddress.dat . It really needs to be in a proper header format/file, otherwise we're forever hunting down these values and hand-entering them (or forgetting to!) after every compile.

(Is there a reasonable way to have a compiler parse that file?)

Seems like it would be pretty simple to include in the next Sigmastudio version.

As in compiler_output.log you probably meant. While compiler_output's symbol list looks somewhat similar, it's actually more annoying to parse since it uses spaces to make visually aligned columns (occasionally violated for overlong identifiers). It's quite clear it is designed for human consumption, and I wouldn't trust the format to remain stable. ParamAddress.dat on the other hand is clearly meant to be easily machine-readable. And it is, e.g.:

perl -ne 's/\./__/g; print "#define ADDR__$_"' ParamAddress.dat >ParamAddress.h

Of course it's still bizarre that the SafeLoad address isn't included with the export data currently, and Analog should definitely fix that.

Right, ok. I'm not sure I can easily integrate perl into my (Atmel) microcontroller's makefile, but it's probably not worth a lot of time messing with (for me) anyhow.

ADI, let's get this fixed please.

Hi All,

We will fix the SafeLoad addresses in the next SigmaStudio release. We will make the addresses available as part of export. (PARAM.h)

Thanks,

Export includes SafeLoad Registers' addresses for ADAU145X from SigmaStudio 3.13 Release.

SafeLoad Registers are fixed to the start of DM1 memory.
