Hello community,

we use SigmaStudio plus ADAU1446 Eval kit and we are interested in monitoring the signals using kind of Probe in time domain. I wonder if there is any feature available in sigmastudio that we can use?

Hello,

The Real-Time Display block allows you to view signals in the sub-audio frequency range within your SigmaStudio project. It works via the I2C interface through the USBi, thus its limited bandwidth. A favorite use is along with an an Envelope block to graph changing audio levels as shown below. It's especially handy for viewing control signals originating within the math of a compressor sidechain, a de-esser, or similar function.

To monitor audio signals, connect an available DAC to the desired point and view it on an oscilloscope. Or output the signal via SPDIF or I2S, and monitor the result with a USB adapter and PC software.

Best regards,

Bob

Thanks for the answer. Actually I don't have the real board yet and I'm trying to run the project in simulation mode. Is it possible to see the graph in simulation mode or it have to be connected to the real hardware?

Also I'm looking for a quick start or demo project for this platform. Any link in the website that I can download them?

can you send me the project file you explained in your post?

Hello,

I no longer remember which one of my projects formed the basis for the illustration above -- and none of them are for the ADAU144x processors. You'll find some example projects at Tutorials [Analog Devices Wiki]

Reading through the post at https://ez.analog.com/message/46806#46806 suggests that a time-domain simulator has been in development, but not yet perfected and released as part of SigmaStudio. Thus you'll need to do your actual testing with hardware.

Best regards,

Bob
