Hi

Is it possible to set up the EVAL-ADAU1761Z (evaluation board for ADAU1761) using SigmaStudio and then stream audio to it from another PC application - e.g. play music through a selected output on the board? Ideally I would like to used the evaluation board as an external USB soundcard for audio test purposes, taking advantage of the ADAU1761 DSP capabilities.

thanks for any advice

Gerry

Hello Gerry,

The SigmaDSP processors do not have a native USB port that can stream audio.

However, you can power-up the eval board from the USB port through the USBi and connect the analog stereo output from the PC to the ADC input. You can stream audio this way.

The best part that you would be interested in is that you can make changes in real time to the SigmaDSP through the SigmaStudio GUI and study the effect in real time.

Hello Gerard,

You need to have a USB to I2S adaptor. It is my understanding that these are available. I did design a multichannel version that can do I2S and TDM but it is not quite available for sale.

The ADAU1761 has serial ports so you can take an analog signal, process it and then send it to an I2S to USB adaptor.

I did a web search and it looks like there are several available.

Thanks,
