we want to use Sigmadsp ADAU1451 , base on the SPEC Rev.Pr0(2011) the S/PDIF receiver support 192KHz Sample rate, but SPEC Rev.C(2013~14) point out it is only support 96KHz.what happen?why they are difference?

Can we through some setting to let ADU1451 support S/PDIF receiver 192Khz/24Bit?

Our design target to support S/Pdif Receiver 192KHz/24Bit . are the Sigmadsp have the type of dps support 192KHz/24Bit S/Pdif Signal Input , around 300MHz(32Bit) working frequency.

Hello solong,

From what I understand, the reason why it was removed in the datasheet is originally the ADAU145x SPDIF receiver was designed to only meet 96 kHz consumer based on IEC70858 consumer specification. By the time the product was developed it was too late to make the change. However, 192 kHz can still be supported for the SPDIF transmitter.

The issue is we do not meet the jitter tolerance specification for 192 kHz for the receive clock recovery. We have found with some of our testing that 192 kHz to work fine for electrical SPDIF input but not optical SPDIF input. Also the jitter tolerance might be dependent on the customer's board layout. So you can try 192 kHz and it might work for your application, but we don't guarantee it per the production datasheet specs.

Regards,

-JT
