Hi,

I use the some modules on the 1452 chip.I find something wrong with Delay and Mixer.

1.When I reopen or compile my project, a dialog box ("CELL:MIXER Ensure“) pop-up and the output window says "Computation Error" . The module I used is " Mixers/Splitters->Mixers->Multiple Control->No Slew->Multiple Control Mixer. After I ensure all the dialog box , the project can be opened or compiled.

2. The delay module only can be chose to less than 7000 samples at 48000 sample rate. If I more than 7000 samples at 48000 sample rate, the dialog box “system.out of memory exception” pop up when compiling the project. So the project can't be compiled. The module I used is "Basic DSP -> DSP Functions->Delay ->Fractional->Delay". The delay module is much less than 800ms which noted in the datasheet of 1452.

The version of sigmastudio I used is release 3.10. When will you fix these bug ? Our project need to finish in two months. Can you fix them in two months? Or can you tell me the time in detail to fix the bug ?

Best regards,

Alex

Hi Alex:

Do you mind posting the project that was causing your problem. While we look at the cause of such bug, would you mind trying the most recent SigmaStudio 3.11 Beta?

We are confident that this bug can be fixed in the upcomming end of July release.

Hi Migcha,

Thank you for your reply.I have checked them in the most recent SigmaStudio 3.11 Beta. They are fixed in it.

But I have another question: the delay time noted in the latest version of 1452 is "up to 800ms digital audio delay pool at 48kHz". How can get it? Need I set any register?

Best Regards,

Alex

Hi Alex,

"The delay module only can be chose to less than 7000 samples at 48000 sample rate. If I more than 7000 samples at 48000 sample rate, the dialog box “system.out of memory exception” pop up when compiling the project"

The approx. 800 msec digital audio delay at 48 kHz listed in the datasheet is correct. Actually, I think the delay memory might be slightly larger at around 853 msec at 48 kHz. The ADAU1452 contains two data RAM memory sections - DM0 and DM1, both around 20.48 K word blocks.

I just tried to compile the fractional delay block (with no other processing) and it would not compile if the delay buffer size is larger than 20477 words. Perhaps if you could only use up to 7K delay could be due to other blocks taking up memory in your signal flow?

However, the current release of SigmaStudio only support simple delays which utilize DM1 memory space. There are no separate delay blocks which use DM0 memory space which would allow you to increase the delay up > 800 msec. Of course, DM0 memory is normally utilized by SigmaStudio for many other algorithm blocks such as IIR, FIR, FFTs, etc. But we expect to provide DM0 simple/fractional delay memory support in the next release update to SigmaStudio. If you really need to use the additional DM0 delay in your application prior to your next release, please let me know and I will try to get you a temporary patch/workaround.
