As discussed in “SigmaDSP Two Microphone Beamformer(https://ez.analog.com/message/43552#43552)”, a new algorithm has been created for the ADAU1761 that will take two microphones and adaptively beamform in order to directionally focus on an audio source in the stereo field. However, the output of the beamformer is the enhanced source signal, can we directly obtain the angle information of moving acoustic source, just like the algorithm of Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC)? In our project, we plan to obtain the angle information of moving acoustic source by use of four microphones and ADAU1761, could you provide same recommendations or some demos?

Hello,

Unfortunately the adaptive beam forming algorithm in SigmaStudio only functions with two microphones, and it does not output any information related to the angle of the source. This information is not contained in the memory, either, as only intermediate calculation values are used to direct the beam.

The beamforming tools in SigmaStudio only work with two microphones. In order to design a beamformer to work with more than two microphones, you will need to manually create the signal flow using blocks from the existing library.

Thank you for your answers! As discussed in your reply that the adaptive beam forming algorithm in SigmaStudio does not output any information related to the angle of the source, nevertheless, can we manually implement the MUSIC algorithm in the SigmaDSP by use of the script editor? We try to employ script editor, however there are little information about how to use it? Can you help me?

Unfortunately there is no way to directly write code for SigmaDSP. The scripting interface you refer to is only used to automate tasks within the SigmaStudio software.
