It looks like the new ADAU145x are intended for signal routing rather than doing some heavy processing. I think it is intended to take the load off an external micro-controller and put us in a better position to control projects with more than one SigmaDSP processors. I hope it has support for IR receiver.
Looking forward to knowing more.....
Thanks!!
Ravindra.

Actually, the ADAU145x has roughly 300% of the processing power of the previous SigmaDSP generation, the ADAU144x family. The ADAU144x was only capable of processing around 850 single-precision biquad filters per audio sample at the standard sample rate, but the ADAU145x is capable of processing over 3000 double-precision biquad filters in the same amount of time.

There is no support for IR receivers at the current time. This functionality may be added in the future, depending on the amount of customer demand.
Hello Brett,
Perhaps Ravindra's comment is based upon the abundance of I/O blocks but the relative lack of algorithm blocks presently appearing in SigmaStudio for the ADAU145x series (there's more for the -1701 right now). I'm sure that will change in the future, in fact I'm looking forward to blocks never before possible in SigmaDSP.
Bob
Hi Bob,
Very true. As with any new DSP core, it will take a while for the software to catch up with the hardware! The new capabilities of this core to do block-based processing and FFTs should open up quite a few new processing options, even though that section of the library is relatively empty for now.
I got a bug in Version 3.10 Build 2 Rev 1278
When placing Aliases I got twice times following error message saving the project :
"Object referenece not set to an instance of an object. Project file could not be saved"
I created a 1452 Boad schematic and invested twice times two hours in designing the project , and got this error.
The annoing thing is I can't save the project anymore even when I do the "undo" button .
And the project can't be loaded anymore too, so the work is lost second time now.
Any chance that you can post the project that gives you the error message.
Thank you
MC
No, because the project can't be open anymore.
In the moment the error occurs, the project can't be saved AND can't be opened anymore.
Hi,
That's sure frustrating when the program loses work on you. I'd suggest you send the non-opening file to Miguel () anyway -- he works with programming at ADI, thus may be able to open it at low level and find out what happened to it.
Best regards,
Bob
