If anyone can be of some help on this.

Attached is a stripped down portion of the schematic for a project which implements 2 stereo crossovers.

The crossovers are than fed to a Clickless SW Slew MUX to select for the stereo pair.

Bypass, Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass.

This fails at Compile time with the error:

Comipler Error, Please contact ADI. System.SystemException: Check syntax : See Error.dat

at Sigma100_Comp.AssemblyProcess100.Decode(Hashtable ErrorAndProc)

at Sigma100.DSPSigma100.Compile(ArrayList algorithmarray)

Contents of Error.dat

I have gotten this to work on a single pair of channels, but not when expanded further to 2 pair.

Hi Mr. Greenway,

Sorry to hear that the SigmaStudio compiler is making this trouble for you. I tried the project you attached above and it compiled OK, yielding this compiler_output.txt report:

Analog Devices Graphical Compiler Tool for Sigma DSP build date = 2008

Done Reading Nodelist ...

Done reading file,

Done Reading Parameter list ...

################## Summary ########################

Number of instructions used (out of a possible 1024 ) = 536

Data RAM used (out of a possible 2048 ) = 298

Parameter RAM used (out of a possible 1024 ) = 170

If the file you attached is the very same one that won't compile for you, perhaps re-installing SigmaStudio, trying it on another computer, etc. might fix the problem. If on the other hand this is "half" your desired project (before expanding to additional channels) -- it's already over 50% MIPS, so a double-sized one would go over. Normally you get a simple "ran out of MIPS" error message for that, but perhaps the compiler hiccuped in this case.

Best regards,

Bob

Hi Richard:

Can you please let us know what version of SigmaStudio are you using and if possible try to upgrade.

This might be a bug that has already been taken care of.

regards

Miguel

Miguel:

This was under Sigma Studio 3.8 on Windows 7 x64. It had previously failed to compile under Sigma Studio 3.7.7 so I upgraded to see if that was the issue.

If this compiled for Bob, I do have a 32bit virtual machine I can try this on in the morning.

I was able to get the above file to compile by changing the mux from SW Slew to standard. Though this did not help in the full project.

EDIT: 10:00AM Monday Dec 31 2012

I tried both this file, and the complete file in Sigma Studio 3.8 in a virtual Windows XP 32bit machine, and both compiled correctly there.

After a reboot of the Win 7 x64 machine, this file also correctly compiles. So must have just been something that built up and was causing the error after several hours, I'll mark the question as answered until I can reproduce it again.
