I am working on a project using IO > Output to export data to external MCU.

I found the output port has DACx and DIGx selection.

Can I know how can I read the DIG0..DIG7 by external MCU? What is the address location and data format for the DIG0..DIG7?

I found some document suggest to use "Basic DSP > DSP Functions > DSP Readback" block to read signal level.

Can I know what is the difference between these two reading methods?

Which method is better if I want to read the audio envelop from external MCU?

Thanks in advance.

The DIGx outputs are I2S serial audio outputs. They will output audio on the ADC_SDATA/GPIO1 pins.

If the serial port is set up in 2 channel mode, DIG0 and DIG1 will be output on that pin in I2S mode.

If the serial port is set up in 4 channel mode, DIG0, DIG1, DIG2 and DIG3 will be output on that pin in TDM mode with 4 channels.

If the serial port is set up in 8 channel mode, DIG0 through DIG7 will be output on that pin in TDM mode with 8 channels.

There is an anomaly in the ordering of the channels in TDM mode. The PDF in this post describes the routing:
