I was running a simple program (just a couple low-pass filters) using my ADAU1761 Eval board with USBi connection and then suddenly there was a click and no audio was passing through. All of the LEDs on the USBi board are now lit up...before this, only two LEDs lit up. I disconnected everything, the just connected the USBi board to my computer (disconnected it from the Eval board) and the LEDs are all still lighting up. Did my USBi board just die??

Is there a support number I can call about this? I currently have a dead Eval board and that means I'm stuck with my development. Thanks!

Freddie,

Please check your Windows Device Manager to see if there is an "Analog Devices USBi (programmed)" under the USB Controllers, as shown here:

If the USBi does not show up here, or if you see an Unknown Device, please try to re-install the drivers from the USB folder in your SigmaStudio installation.

Still not working. The device isn't showing up as being attached to the system now. All of the LEDs on the USBi are lit up, which doesn't make sense (both SPI AND I2C simultaneously). Before, it was just two of them were lit. Looks like the Cypress chip might be messed up...is there a way to reprogram it here?

Hello Freddie,

It looks like the Cypress is not booting correctly from the onboard EEPROM that contains its default boot program, and also identifies the board on the USB port. The reason why it fails to boot is hard to determine without a little debug work. It's possible that the EEPROM has been corrupted. Do you have another I2C master in the system that is writing to the same address as the USBi's EEPROM?

There's unfortunately no easy way for you to reprogram the EEPROM, as it requires a Cypress evaluation kit. So, I would suggest sending the board back to me and I'll debug it. I'll then send you a replacement board.

Please send me an email at sigmadsp@analog.com including your shipping address, and I will respond with mine.

I received the replacement USBi this morning and it appears to work great!!! Thanks again! I'll send back the dead one...
