write on ADAU1761 Ram
Hello Community, I am a new user of The ADAU1761 and I have been asked to upload the sigmaStudio program to the ADAU1761 Ram on a zedboard.
First, I checked the Datasheet and I found that we need to export a Program, Parameter and Data Ram. I found in my exported files of SigmaStudio 6 different files and I don't know which one I need to Upload on each caracteristics. Also how to put it
upon this tutorial : http://www.harald-rosenfeldt.de/2017/12/29/zynq-using-the-audio-codec-bidirectional-spi-ip-core/
I have found a function to write on the ADAU1761 that goes like this :
void adau1761_write(adau1761_config *pDevice,u16 addr, u8 wdata) {
XLlFifo_TxPutWord(&pDevice->fifo, (pDevice->chipAddr<<1) & 0xFF);
XLlFifo_TxPutWord(&pDevice->fifo, (addr>>8) & 0xFF );
XLlFifo_TxPutWord(&pDevice->fifo, addr & 0xFF );
XLlFifo_TxPutWord(&pDevice->fifo, wdata );
XLlFifo_iTxSetLen(&pDevice->fifo, 4 * pDevice->wordSize);
while(XLlFifo_RxOccupancy(&pDevice->fifo)!=4) {}
XLlFifo_RxGetWord(&pDevice->fifo);
XLlFifo_RxGetWord(&pDevice->fifo);
XLlFifo_RxGetWord(&pDevice->fifo);
XLlFifo_RxGetWord(&pDevice->fifo);
}
Since my project is similar, I think that I would have the same function but with different paraeters (u16 addr for the address of params or program and u8 wdata for the date we need to put on)
so my questions are:
what are the adresses of each part of the ram (PArameter, Program) ?
Is the data Ram the data we need to put in parameter and program or does it mean something elese ?
and what are the files that we need from SigmaStudio and whether we need to have to put the complete data 0x0 01 001 or just the part of the data we need ( 0*0 address+write command)?
I hope that you could help because I am really lost
Thank you

Hello The_Lady,
Page 47 of the datasheet has some details of the different RAMs.
Parameter RAM is used to store the parameters for different algorithms and it is how you "communicate" with the objects in memory to change the settings.
Data RAM is used by the core for storing audio and temporary storage locations for filters, delays, etc. Data RAM is not able to be reached from the comms port so you will not be writing to it. Only the core will write to it. This is why it is not mentioned in the table showing the addresses of the different RAMs.
SigmaStudio has a feature to export system files that can be included into C-code for a microcontroller. I do not know which files are useful for a Linux system. Here is the button for creating the export files:
The rest of your questions is probably better asked in the Linux section of the forum. I support the DSP but not the Linux driver.

I also suggest you search the forum to see if your questions have already been answered in the past.
