Thread Summary

The user asked about selecting parameters for a filter module in the DSP configuration. The support engineer advised to write new values to the target parameter, as the DSP will slew the current values to match the target over time. The discussion is relevant to the ADau 1452/66 DSP and Sigma 4.5 software.

Hello,

there are some new parametersets in the selection box concerning the params of the moduls: current... and target... (see picture)

What do i have to choose to write new values?

Hello Marc,

You are using a slewed filter that is grown to several sections. You need to write to the target value. This is the ultimate target value for the coefficients. The DSP will slowly change (slew) the values from the current setting to the target setting so eventually the two will be the same. This is done over many sample periods. So do not write to the current value, let the DSP do that. If you did write to the current value the DSP would slew it back to the stored target value anyway. Then you would be wondering why the filter is not changing.
