This seems like such a simple thing, but I cannot figure out how to export the control register settings from my ADAU1761 CODEC Eval Board project in SigmaStudio into a HEX file so I can copy them into my host processor code. The host processor on my product's PCBA will write the Control Registers, the Program Data, and the Parameter Data to the CODEC via I2C.

I can find no file with register settings data in HEX format. There is a (projectname)_IC_1_REG.h file that is exported, but it contains a whole list of LOOONG define names for addresses, # of bytes, and values, which are pretty useless if you want to use a burst-mode I2C write to load all the register data. If I RIGHT-CLICK on the IC block on the "Config - Hardware Configuration" tab in SigmaStudio, I can perform a "Register Settings - Save", which creates an IC1_Set1.bin file, but opening this file with a text editor displays gibberish and unformatted text.

The hex_program_data.dat file contains all the 5-byte Program data in HEX format so it can be easily added to my host processor code as an array, passed to my I2C function, and written to the CODEC using burst mode starting at address 0x0800.

The (projectname).hex file contains contains all the 4-byte Parameter data in HEX format so it can be easily added to my host processor code as an array, passed to my I2C function, and written to the CODEC using burst-mode starting at address 0x0000.

Is there a tutorial, sample project, or other helpful example of how to accomplish the control register data write using the SigmaStudio-generated files?

Thanks in Advance,

Ed
