Hi

I am using ADAU1761.

The digital signal from the master controller is sent to ADAU1761 and DSP in ADAU1761 need to do some processing

on the signal.

Now I want to get the digital data output before DAC and compare the output data of ADAU1761(before DAC) with the output of the master controller. I just want to know the data transfer is correct or not.

question 1 How can I capture the digital data output before DAC output? I can not see the output data in Capture Window of Sigmastudio.

question 2 And, I think that the digital signal from the master controller should be transmitted through the serial data ports. Am I right?

question 3 How to eliminate the noise ? Especially the impulse noise in time domain. The duration of pulse noise is short, but the energy is large. Can I use the FIR to solve it ? Do I need to detecte the impulse noise first ? Or I just need to import FIR coefficient?

question 4 How can I get the BBE module to make it sound more clear. Could you give me a demo about how to program a microcontroller to emulate SigmaStudio to communicate with the SigmaDSP IC of ADAU1761 in a real production system.

Thanks

Qiongzhuang

Hello Qiongzhuang,

You have asked many questions that are somewhat detailed to answer.

First let me start by saying that the information you see in the Capture Window is simply the control information coming from SigmaStudio going over to the DSP via the I2C/SPI control port. No audio data can be sent or received via this interface with the exception of metering data or a quick snapshot of the audio data using the Readback cells. So you get audio to and from the DSP into a computer will require an additional interface. Either an I2S to USB interface or for you to connect the I2S ports to an SPDIF transmitter/receiver to send the audio to the computer via SPDIF. There are interfaces available to translate SPDIF to USB or some computers can take an SPDIF signal directly, if I remember correctly.

Regarding reducing the impulse noise. You can try first to use one of our limiters to do this function. The limiters are available as peak limiters and can be set for no delay, 0 attack time, so that it will reduce these peaks to a maximum value that you specify. This will keep the peak from clipping and it will reduce the level. However, it will not get rid of the click. That is a more difficult problem to solve.

Your last question about the BBE license, contact me about this using the email address you used today. I will need more detail about your company, your product and where you are located as a start.

Thanks,

Dave T
