Hi

I'm using ADAU1761 Evaluation Board ADAU1761Z with SigmaStudio 3.2.

Is there any tool in SigmaStudio to allow one to view a frequency spectum in realtime, e.g. to see/plot the effects of a filter on an output? I expected that capability to be present - but maybe I'm missing something.

thanks & regards

Gerry

This post explains the process of setting up your SigmaStudio project to read back signal levels. https://ez.analog.com/message/7669#7669

Thanks for that - very useful! But, is there a way to display a frequency spectrum? It appears to be possible to do this in simulation mode, but I haven't found out how to see a realtime spectum of an output.

Thanks

Gerry

Are you trying to view the output frequency spectrum of your signals in real-time? SigmaStudio is not a simulation tool and does not have the ability to read all of your actual processed data and display it on your screen. SigmaStudio is configuring, programming, and tuning your signal processing flow which is loaded to the SigmaDSP hardware, but the actual audio data is not transferred between the hardware and your PC.

Just as it's possible to monitor the RMS voltage in realtime with SigmaDSP, it would be very useful to be able to get a realtime spectrum plot. I can check the output using an actual spectrum analyser, but I only have access to this occasionally.

Thanks very much for your help

I certainly agree that this would be useful and would be a great feature to have in SigmaStudio. However, the SigmaDSP IC hardware isn't set up to be able to read back sample-by-sample data of every signal in the DSP. I think that the only feasible way to do this would be to encode the serial outputs (I2S) of the SigmaDSP on to the USB data stream, but that would require dedicating the serial port for real-time data monitoring and could potentially interfere with the IC's setup on the application board.
